The Bzadian alphabet has twenty four characters, with no equivalent of the "S" and "X" found in the Roman Alphabet used for languages such as English.

The "S" is always replaced by a "Z" reflecting the difficulty Bzadian tongues have with the sybilant human "S" sound.

Where an X is required, it is represented by the letters K and Z together.

The letter "C" appears but is pronounced "Zee".

There are no upper case characters in Bzadian, and only four punctuation marks, the period (full stop), the comma, the question mark, and the emphasis mark (similar to a exclamation mark).

Unlike most human languages, the question mark and emphasis mark do not need to go at the end of a sentence, but can be used anywhere to emphasise something, or create a question.

Using this alphabet, most human languages can be written in Bzadian characters.

A number of research papers have been written on the similarity of the Bzadian alphabet to the human Roman Alphabet, particular with characters such as A, E, Q and W. The D character also bears a strong resemblance to the Delta (D) character from the Greek Alphabet. Linguists are undecided whether this indicates a common origin of the two alphabets, or if it is merely a coincidence.
